_*Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses (Acts 13:38-39).*_

What we just read brings to mind what the Bible says in Romans 3:24, that we’ve been justified
freely by grace through the redemption that’s in Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ we’ve received remission of sins, the complete removal of sins, and by Him we’ve been justified from all things, from which we couldn’t be justified by the Law of Moses.

That means we’ve been declared acquitted, free from all charges and accusations. Blessed be God! Jesus made it so. He took your place so that you might take His place. Taking your place in Christ is what Christianity is about. Take what He gave up for you; take the place He has given you—your new place in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says,
_*“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”*_

Take your place of righteousness and express the will and nature of the Father. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says, _*“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”*_ This is your new place—the place of wealth and abundance.

Also, read Ephesians 2:4-5 and see your place: _*“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,(by grace ye are saved).”*_ You’ve been raised up together and made to sit together in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus. This signifies a place of authority; you’re recognized in the heavenly realm as a man or woman of dominion. Blessed be God!

*PRAYER*
*Dear Father, I thank you for the place you’ve given me in Christ—a place of glory, dominion, wealth, abundance and power. I walk in the consciousness of this reality, expressing your will, nature and purpose as I reign and rule in life, exercising authority over circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*CHRIST—“THE GOD-MAN”*

_*And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name (John 20:30-31).*_

From our theme scripture, we see the purpose for which the Holy Scriptures were written: it’s so we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. This is one of the most amazing truths revealed to us in the entire Word of God. But then, what does the expression “Jesus is the Christ” really mean? What’s the meaning of
Christ?

First, understand that Christ is the English translation of the Greek word “Christos,” which is itself the translation
of the Hebrew word “Messiah.” But beyond that, the real
meaning of Christ is “the God-man,” that is, God in human
flesh. It’s the reason Christ is also called the Son of God.

When we say Jesus is the Son of God, it doesn’t mean God gave birth to Jesus in the same way human fathers give birth to sons, like Mr. Scott giving birth to a son, called Scott Jr. No! “Son of God” in Scripture means
God in human form. That’s why when Jesus declared that He was the Son of God, the religious leaders accused Him of blasphemy. They believed that Jesus declared Himself to be equal with God.

Similarly, in John 10:30, Jesus stated, _*“I and my Father are one,”*_ which prompted the Jewish leaders to pick up stones to stone Him. They argued that He, being a man, made Himself God. Due to their ignorance of God’s Word and of who Jesus really is, they couldn’t accept His divine identity and the implications of His claims.

But Jesus wasn’t making Himself equal with God; He is Himself God—God in human flesh. This is the knowledge
that God wants you to have, and He tells us what will happen when you believe this: you’ll have life through his Name. What life? The God-life! Through Jesus Christ, you have the divine nature; this eternal life supplants the human life with which you were born of your parents. You’re now an associate of the God-kind—a God-man—for as He (Jesus)
is, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17). Glory to God!

*PRAYER*
*Dear Father, thank you for the blessing of eternal life through Jesus Christ. I believe He is the Christ, the Son of God, through whom I have and live the God-life. I’m victorious, complete and preserved in Him. My life is a manifestation of the organic and existential attributes of deity, and I manifest your glory, wisdom, righteousness and grace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*THE WORD IN YOU*

_*Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly... (Colossians 3:16).*_

There’s something so important and beautiful that Jesus said in John 15:7, and it explains why you need to have the Word of God abundantly in you. He said, _*“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”*_ You have to abide in Him and have His Word abide in you. That’s what fortifies you against the troubles and adversities of life.

It brings to mind what He said in John 8:31, _*“…If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed.”*_ It’s about abiding or continuing in His Word, doing the Word, never giving up. But if you don’t know His words, how can they abide in you? You’ve got to hear them, learn them, study them, and keep them in you.

And here’s the beautiful result of having the Word abide in you: _*“…ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you”*_ (John 15:7). The word translated “ask” here is ‘aiteo,’ which means “to call or require.” So, it
means to call up or call forth what you desire. The phrase “be done” comes from the Greek word “ginomai,” meaning to come into being.

The Lord Jesus is saying, “If my words abide in you, you shall call whatever you think about, whatever you require, and it will come into being.” That’s powerful! It makes spiritual sense because if God’s Word is abundant in you, why should you beg for anything? God’s Word is the creator of all things.

The Bible says, _*“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made”*_ (John 1:1-3). If all things were made by the Word, and that Word is in you, why not release the Word instead of begging? Call forth what you desire, and it will manifest; it will leap into reality! So, heap up the Word in you and it’ll cause you to triumph in life.

*PRAYER*
*Dear Father, thank you for the power of your Word at work in me. Your Word is in my heart and on my lips. Even now, I call forth my desires; your Word on my lips creates realities. All things work together for my good, and I live a victorious, fulfilled life because I walk in the light of your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*RECEIVING THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE*

*WEDNESDAY, 12TH FEBRUARY 2025*

_*For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).*_

In preaching the Gospel, we must let the world know that God already made eternal life available as a gift to all men. A gift is something given voluntarily, without payment in return, usually to show favour, honour, appreciation or express love toward someone. The essence of a gift is that it’s not something you work or labour to earn; it’s free.

We read in our opening scripture that the gift of God is eternal life. God offered it freely in Jesus Christ. Isn’t that wonderful? He knew that no matter how hard we tried; our hard and good works wouldn’t qualify us to receive eternal life. Therefore, He made it available as a gift.

Recall the words of the Lord Jesus in John 3:16; _*"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."*_ Also, in John 5:24, He said, _*"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life…."*_ So, if you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (God in human flesh), and that He died on
account of your sins, and was raised back to life for your justification, eternal life is imparted to your spirit.

At that moment, everything changes; you have eternal life with the blessings and grace that flow from Him. 1 John 5:11-12 says, _*"And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."*_ If you haven’t declared His lordship over your life, do so right away. The Word declares that if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

Turn to the Prayer of Salvation page at the back of this devotional, say the words therein and mean them from the bottom of your heart. This will bring you into salvation in Christ right away. God bless you.

*Dear Father, I thank you for the wonderful gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. For everyone who receives salvation today, the Name of Jesus is named upon them. They have received life from you, and Satan has no claim over them anymore; they belong to Jesus and are members of the body of Christ. Amen.*

*EXERCISE YOUR AUTHORITY IN CHRIST*

*TUESDAY, 11TH FEBRUARY 2025*

_*Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).*_

The Lord Jesus gave us power and authority, and you don’t need any special faith to exercise that authority. You don’t need to 'work up' faith to exercise your dominion in Christ. Therefore, simply take your place in Christ and _*“…Resist the devil, and he will flee...”*_ (James 4:7).

Perhaps there have been recurrent cases of sickness or other kinds of challenges with members of your family; exercise your authority! Declare, “Satan, I command you
to stop your manoeuvres and operations in my home and amongst my family members, in the Name of Jesus!" Every demon will bow and leave.

Sometimes, in some homes, there could be so much anger—everyone seems to be on edge—tension fills the
air and no one knows why. You that are born again in that home should exercise authority over the demon of anger. Find a quiet place to pray, and then say, “You spirit of anger, get out of this home.” You don’t need to shout or jump around; just speak with authority and command the devil to leave.

In Mark 16:17, the Lord Jesus said, _*“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils.…”*_ In Matthew 10:8 He said, _*“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils...."*_ Once you perceive or encounter situations that are caused or influenced by devils, don’t negotiate;
exercise the authority that Christ has given you.

Take for example you were in a place where a child suddenly started convulsing or experiencing a bout of seizures; cast the devil out and command it to return no more. Then, declare wholeness and perfection for that child. Jesus gave us absolute dominion over demons and the powers of darkness; therefore, cast them out in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

*PRAYER*
*Dear Father, I thank you for the authority you have given me in Christ Jesus. I declare that I walk in dominion, subduing every work of the enemy. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I exercise authority over every negative circumstance and demonic influence in my life, my home, and my environment. I thank you for the victory that is mine through Christ Jesus, and I live every day in the boldness of this authority, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*POWER TO EFFECT CHANGES*

_*Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases (Luke 9:1).*_

Observe what the Bible says in the opening verse. It tells us the Lord Jesus gave His disciples both power and authority. We often speak about authority, but let's focus on power for a moment. Power is the dynamic, inherent ability to cause changes. It's the kind of power that reproduces itself, a power that shows through tangible results. When Jesus spoke of this power, He was referring to the ability to create real change in situations.

He told us that He has given us power and authority over all devils and the ability to cure diseases. I wish that everyone who is sick, diseased or afflicted would grasp this. If they only understood that the divine ability is right there in their spirits to effect a change in their conditions.

The Lord Jesus said in Acts 1:8, _*“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you….”*_ Power here means the dynamic ability to effect changes, power that works like a dynamo, power with which you can create or recreate anything. Put this power to work today. It’s not something that will flow into you from heaven; it’s already within you, and it has the ability to cause cancer to dematerialize!

I remember once laying hands on a man who had a large growth on his back, about the size of an egg. As I placed my hand on the growth, I could feel it move beneath my palm. It was the power of God working right there, causing the growth to move in and out as I spoke the Word. The power was effecting changes. I then commanded the
growth to go, and it did! This dynamic, life-changing power is available to all who believe; put it to work today.

*PRAYER*
*Dear Father, I thank you for enduing me with the dynamic power to effect changes and make a difference in the lives of others. As I minister your Word, your power works in me mightily, bringing healing, restoration and deliverance to many. I’m full of faith, and I walk in this authority to transform lives for your glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*USING HIS NAME WITH AUTHORITY*

_*And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it
(John 14:13-14).*_

When you study the words of the Master in the scripture above, you'll realize that He was referring to using His Name with authority; doing great works in His Name. He was emphasizing the power and authority vested in His Name, making it clear to us that this authority is effective in bringing about any desired
result. Hallelujah!

Let’s examine those words a bit more: first, He said, "If you shall ask anything in my name...." To ask here means to demand something. The Lord Jesus was referring to situations where you demand that something should happen in His Name. At such moments, He says, "I will cause it to happen." What an assurance! This is a demonstration of the authority we have in His Name.

An example of this can be found in Acts chapter 3, where Peter and John encountered a man who had been crippled from birth. Peter simply used the Name of Jesus with the understanding of the authority that it wields. He understood what Jesus meant when He said, _*“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do...”*_ (John 14:13).

As a result, Peter demanded healing for the man who was crippled from birth. The Bible says, _*“And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God”*_ (Acts 3:7-8). This is precisely what Jesus was talking about—using His Name with authority.

Recall what He said in John 10:25, _*"...I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me."*_ He commissioned us to do the same in His Name. We have the authority to speak to anything in His Name and have a miracle. You can speak to broken bones, blind eyes, and every challenging situation in His Name, and there’ll be a change. Glory to God!

When you speak in His Name, He’s present with divine power to ensure that your words come to pass. He guarantees the results. This is the authority we've been given; it’s power beyond this world; power to change circumstances in His Name. Hallelujah!

*PRAYER*
*Dear Father, thank you for the authority in the Name of Jesus. As I speak and act in His Name, every situation aligns with your will. Sickness, disease, poverty and every contrary condition bow to the Name of Jesus. I walk in this authority, manifesting your power in every area of my life, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*

One of the fundamental truths that must shape your perception of who you are in Christ and what actually transpired when you were born again is the fact that the human life with which you were born by your biological parents has been supplanted by the life of God. That human life, which was marked by sin and frailty, fraught with darkness and limitations, is supplanted by the divine essence of Christ Himself. This is one of the greatest revelations of Christianity.

Think about the fact that the divine nature of God has been transferred into a human being! This divine life is referred to as eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV), says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

That’s the life you have now that Christ lives in you: “And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life (1 John 5:11-12 ESV).

It’s this divine nature that sets Christianity apart from the religions of the world. 2 Peter 1:4 says we’re partakers of the divine nature; associates of the God-kind. This is the heart of the Gospel: the exchange of your frail human life for the glorious, indestructible life of God. Hallelujah!

*|| Dear Father, I thank you for the life of Christ in me; sickness, diseases and infirmities can’t thrive in my body because I have eternal life. The divine life in me has gained ascendancy over my spirit, soul and body, and I walk in absolute dominion over Satan and the elements of this world, in Jesus' Name. Amen. ||*

*GOD’S ONE AND ONLY*

*FRIDAY, 7TH FEBRUARY 2025*

*No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him (John 1:18).*

What we just read provides one of the most extraordinary expressions of the Son of God. It emphasizes that no one has seen God face to face, which is a significant point. Then it refers to Jesus as the “only begotten Son.” The Greek term used for begotten
is “Monogenēs,” which means the one and only or one of
a kind, unique, with no other like Him. Jesus is described here as the only born Son of the Father.

But then we see something extraordinary about His mission, what He was born to do, in our theme verse: He came to make the Father known: _*“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”*_ The word declared is from the Greek “exēgeomai” which means that Jesus, God’s born-Son, came to rehearse God to men. He came to show us what God is like in human form. He came to declare and act out the nature of God.

Now, think about this: the life that He had is what He’s given you (1 John 5:11-12). And the Bible says as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). So, today, He’s called the _*“...first begotten of the dead...”*_ (Revelation 1:5). This is because He heads up a new species, a new class of “Monogenēs”—people who have now been born
of God as a result of the resurrection of Jesus Christ—by
virtue of the New Birth (1 Peter 1:3).

Recall what the Bible says in 1 John 3:1, _*“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God….”*_ We’re born-sons of God: _*“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God”*_ (John 1:12-13). James 1:18 says, _*“Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”*_ We’re the first and the best; the one and only or one of a kind; unique. (Also read 1 Peter 2:9 AMPC). Hallelujah!

*Dear Father, thank you for the blessing of eternal life for everyone who hears and receives the message of the Gospel. Today, many will hear and understand the depth of your love and the invitation to be born again and receive the divine life as the Gospel is preached around the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

_*Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son
(Colossians 1:13).*_

Another vital blessing of our salvation in Christ Jesus is deliverance from the jurisdiction of darkness. Recall what we said salvation is in one of our previous studies: deliverance, wholeness, and preservation. The first step was the removal of sin. Jesus took away your sins
and delivered you from the dominion of darkness. You’re now separated from the influence and control of darkness.

Ephesians 1:21 says you’re seated with Christ in heavenly places, _*“Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.”*_ Can you see why, having received salvation, you don’t need another deliverance from Satan? You’re superior to Satan.

Jesus told us to cast out demons. Mark 16:17 says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues.” In Luke 10:19, He said, _*“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”*_ He’s given you control, authority and dominion to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. Hallelujah!

Never be afraid of demons; they’re under your feet. The Bible says God has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). You live in the Kingdom of His Love-Son where life and immortality reigns; and it’s a Kingdom of light. Praise God!

*Dear Father, I thank you for translating me into the Kingdom of your dear Son, Jesus Christ. Satan has no authority over me, for I live in the glorious Kingdom of light. I walk in victory, free from the control of darkness, and I reign in life through Christ. Amen.*

_*For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10).*_

The word “salvation” is a unique word that’s often
only used by those who believe in Jesus Christ. While many may have a general idea of what it means, only a few have explored the Scriptures to grasp its true meaning and implications. Salvation, simply, means to deliver, to make whole, and to preserve.

That’s what Jesus brought to us. He “saved” us, and
the term 'saved' originates from the Greek word “sozo,”
which embodies the full scope of what Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection achieved for mankind. So when we say that Jesus brought salvation, it means He brought deliverance, completeness and preservation.

Thus, when you say you’re saved by Jesus Christ, it means He delivered you, made you complete, and preserved you. You’ve been delivered from the power of darkness, from sin, from fear, from death and Satan’s dominion, into God's perfect will. Colossians 1:12-14 says, _*“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”*_

Having been delivered, He brings you into that state of completeness, protecting you, and stopping anything or anyone from affecting the wholeness He has given
you. Now that you’re born again, you’re whole, sound and exactly as He intended in His perfect will. Nothing is left out in your life. You’re perfected in Him. Hallelujah!

This is why the understanding of the full message of salvation is important. Paul explained in his letter to the Roman Church, _*“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”*_ (Romans 10:8-10). This is what we preach; that in Christ Jesus, you’ve been delivered, made whole and preserved. Blessed be God!

*Dear Father, I thank you for the gift of salvation that I have received in Christ Jesus. I’m delivered, complete in Christ, and preserved in the state of wholeness and victory. My life is a testimony of your saving power, and I walk in your perfect will, and in the full blessings of the Gospel of Christ, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*

When you receive eternal life—which is the unfading, unending and indestructible life of God—you receive the very nature and righteousness of God. This life lifts you into God's class of being. Let me explain this to you because it’s so important.

We often talk about who God is. God is not just a supernatural being who is so powerful that no one can resist Him, allowing Him to do whatever He pleases. While that’s true to some extent, there's more to God than just His power. The Bible tells us that God is holy, God is righteous, God is just, and God is love. He created everything, and nothing exists that He didn’t create. Everything belongs to Him.

We are from God; He made us. He had a plan for us, and in His plan, He determined to give us eternal life so that we would be more than mere creatures. He gave us eternal life to lift us into His class of being. That’s what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “...If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature....” If you're born again, it means you’re in Christ, and if you’re in Christ, you’re a new creature, a new kind of man, a new type of being, in God's class of being.

This doesn’t mean that you are equal with God but that you share in His nature. He remains your God and Heavenly Father, and He is greater than you, yet you can now relate with Him at a personal level, in a father-and child relationship.

Just as a child relates to the parent as a human being, not as a dog or cat that belongs to a different class, we have been lifted into God's class to relate with Him as associates of the God-kind. That’s what receiving eternal life means, and it’s the life that God has given to us through Jesus Christ. This is the good news we preach. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why we proclaim it to the world that eternal life has come and that now, anyone who believes has been lifted into God's class of being.

*|| Dear Father, thank you for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. I rejoice because I have been lifted into your class of being, with your divine nature and
righteousness. I’m a new creation, born again with your unfading, unending and indestructible life in me. I walk in the consciousness of this life every day, influencing my world with your power, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. ||*

In Luke 8:22-25, the Lord Jesus and His disciples set sail across the lake when a violent storm arose, causing
the boat to be filled with water. The disciples,
filled with fear, woke Jesus, saying, "Master, Master, we
perish!" Jesus then arose, rebuked the wind and the raging waters, and the storm immediately ceased, resulting in a great calm. It was a marvellous display of divine authority.

Then the Bible says, "...And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water,
and they obey him" (Luke 8:25). Now, here’s what’s important: after rebuking the wind and the waves, Jesus turned to His disciples and asked, “Where is your faith?”
That statement speaks volumes. He’s saying, “You could have done it yourselves.”

By asking, “Where is your faith?” the Lord Jesus revealed that what they needed all along was their faith. He demonstrated that with faith, even the forces of nature are subject to us. He expected His disciples to know that their faith could have handled the situation.

Hebrews 11:33-34 tells us what our forebears did through faith. They subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed
valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. We can do the same and even more in our day because we have the same spirit of faith (2 Corinthians 4:13). Our faith is real, it is substance, it has power, and the beautiful thing is that every Christian has faith. We all have the same measure of faith (Romans 12:3), and with your faith, you can do anything. You can change anything. The forces of nature, hell and of this world are subject to you.

Activate your faith even now and speak to the storm, and there’ll be a great calm. Speak to your body, your blood, your bones, your heart and kidneys. Speak to your job, your finances, and your business. Speak and declare perfection in your health, your home and family.

*FRAME YOUR REASONING WITH THE WORD*

*TUESDAY, 28TH JANUARY 2025*

_*And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind... (Romans 12:2).*_

When your reasoning is framed by God's Word, you can't think limitations, defeat, weakness or failure. God's Word gives you a champion's mentality; you just know that come what may, you're always in victory. It brings to mind the story of Joshua and Caleb, two of the twelve spies sent by Moses to scout the land of Canaan, the land God had promised to the Israelites. While ten spies doubted and came back with a negative report, Caleb and Joshua had a different report.

Caleb's faith and courage stood out, and God promised that he and Joshua would live to enter the land and that Caleb would inherit the land he had explored. Years later, at 85, Caleb reminded Joshua of God's promise and boldly declared, _*"Now therefore give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day...*_ (Joshua 14:12 NKJV). Caleb could have said, "You know, I'm 85 now, old and stricken with years. There're lots of giants in Hebron. Can we get some other land? Is there an alternative?" But no; despite his age, Caleb was determined to claim Hebron. What a mindset!

Some people, even in their 50s, start to believe they are too old to accomplish certain things, simply because in today's world that has become a popular belief. They've become more acquainted with the ways of the world than with the Word of God. Caleb didn't care how great or fenced the cities were or how formidable the Anakim giants seemed. He knew that with God, victory was inevitable. All that was important to Caleb was the Lord with Him!

This same mentality should drive you today. You need to have the right mindset. God is calling you to think differently—to think as He would have you think. This is very important because the Lord has sent us in our day. He's in us and always with us. You can do something about your family, business, work, finances, city, state and nation, knowing that victory is already yours in Christ Jesus.

You're not at the mercy of anyone. None of the powers of this world can dominate you. You're the seed of Abraham; you're an heir of God and joint-heir with Christ. You're a God-man, a partaker of the divine nature. Have the right mentality about yourself; frame and construct it through the Word. Praise God!

The Lord Jesus was so different from the religious leaders of His day and from what the people around Him were used to. Everything about Him was transcendent and awe-inspiring, including His prayer life and prayer language. His disciples, having watched Him for a while, came to Him one day and said, “Lord, teach us to pray." Now, why did they ask this?

Remember, they were Jews, and the Jews knew how to pray. The Jews prayed all the time; their entire life was centred around the temple and revolved around prayer. So, for a Jew to say "Teach us to pray," means something significant. They already prayed religiously because their religion demanded it. They prayed several times a day as a routine. But they noticed something different about Jesus; they saw that His prayers were effective. They saw results. His words had power. Something happened when Jesus spoke.

When Jesus prayed, it wasn’t religious; it seemed like He was actually talking to someone who was listening. They never saw the religious leaders pray like that. And even more astonishing, it seemed as though whoever Jesus was talking to responded, as His life reflected
answers to those prayers. This was what amazed the disciples, so they said, "Master, teach us to pray." Jesus taught them to pray, and they learned to pray like Him.

As you study the Gospels, the Book of Acts, and the Epistles, you discover that they indeed learned to pray like Jesus. Through their writings, they taught us to pray as Jesus taught them, and now, we also pray like Jesus and have results like Jesus. When you get to know prayer like this, you’ll love to pray. You’ll realize that you can actually effect changes and make things happen through prayer. Prayer becomes a powerful tool to bring God's will to pass in your life, in the lives of others and in the nations of the world.

*THE FORMAL DECLARATION OF OUR INNOCENCE*

_*But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification (Romans 4:24-25).*_

In our previous study, we learnt that we're the proof of God's fairness and impartiality. That's what it means to be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Now the latter part of our opening scripture reveals something extraordinary; it's one of the most mind-blowing verses of the Bible. It says Jesus Christ was delivered for our offences and raised back to life, not for our forgiveness, but for our justification.

This staggers the understanding of the human mind; it's purely beyond belief. He was delivered to death for our offences and raised for our justification so that He (God) might be just and the justifier of the one who believes in Jesus Christ. How could an offender suddenly become justified?

The Greek word for justification is "Dikaiosis" and it means acquittal, a legal or formal declaration of innocence. It means God looked at you and said, "You're innocent; you're not guilty of any sin." He should have said you've been forgiven of all sins, but He said, "You're innocent." Now it should have been that you paid in Christ and are not a debtor anymore; you should have been described as a free man who has been forgiven. But that's not what we have here. God is saying you have been acquitted; the records were checked and it wasn't found where you sinned; therefore, you were formally declared innocent, not guilty. He's saying you never sinned; how could that happen?

That's what makes it Gospel—Good News. Some people hear it and don't understand it. How is it that I never sinned? It's the result of Christ's redemptive work. Romans 5:1 says, _*"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."*_ We've been declared righteous by faith; do you know why? Because you're born again, you're a new creature. The Bible says, _*"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new"*_ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The new creation never sinned because he's a brand-new species that never existed before. Blessed be God!

_*For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5:21).*_

What we just read is so huge; it's one of the unexplored tablelands in the Christian experience. I would to God every Christian understood what it means for us to be called the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. It's different from us being made righteous; the Greek word there is "Dikaiosune" and it means equity, the quality of fairness or impartiality.

What this means is that we're God's proof of His fairness and impartiality. We're the manifestation of His equity. This is so wonderful! Recall what the Bible says in Ephesians 3:10, _*"To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God."*_ It means that God points to us as evidence to all principalities and powers to judge that He is fair; He shows off with us as trophies of His goodness. Hallelujah!

Romans 4:26 says, _*"...To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."*_ What this means is that through the redemption that's in Christ Jesus, God has proven Himself just, in justifying the sinner. Jesus Christ was delivered to death for our offenses, and raised back to life for our justification.

When you study Romans 3:21-26, you'd understand this better. That portion says, _*"But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."*_

Think about that! God proves Himself to be just, while He justifies the sinner. How can He justify the sinner? Why are we His righteousness? Why are we His proof of His equity? We'll learn more in our next study.

*GOD'S HIDDEN WISDOM*

_*But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory (1 Corinthians 2:7-8).*_

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ was indeed a profound mystery. Satan, being a created being and not omniscient, couldn't have known the full significance of Christ's redemptive work. The Bible reveals this truth in 1 Corinthians 2:7-8, _*"But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."*_

Here, "the princes of this world" were unaware of the ultimate purpose of Christ's sacrifice. If they had understood the depth and power of this mystery, they wouldn't have crucified Jesus. In John 12:31, Jesus refers to Satan as the "prince of this world," which aligns with the description of these world powers of darkness in the above verses.

The ignorance of Satan and his principalities regarding the divine plan is a testament to the hidden wisdom of God. They didn't know that the crucifixion of Jesus would lead to the salvation of mankind. 1 Corinthians 2:9-11 further elaborates: _*"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God."*_

Thanks be unto God that we know and understand the wisdom and mysteries of God; they're not hidden to us. Christ, the Bible says, has been made unto us wisdom from God (1 Corinthians 1:30), and we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).

*And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:17).*

In John 8, the Lord Jesus addressed the inability of the Jewish religious leaders to understand His message. He said, *"Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word"* (John 8:43). To them, His words were mere speeches—sermons that didn't penetrate their hearts. But to others, it was the living and active Word of the Spirit.

God's active Word in your spirit, released by you, effects changes. When you want to change hopeless situations, you speak forth His Word. That's what Paul calls the sword of the Spirit in the opening verse—the spoken, active Word. The "word" is translated from the Greek "Rhema." It's also translated "word" in Hebrews 4:12: _*"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword...."*_

However, the Word, even though sharper than any two-edged sword, is in its sheath until you speak it. When you utter it, it becomes the sharp cutting edge that demolishes the works of darkness. In Revelation 1:16, the apostle John, referring to Jesus, said, _*"...out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword...."*_ This doesn't mean a literal sword was protruding from His mouth but that His words were a sharp weapon as they proceeded from His mouth.

The Greek word "stoma" is used for "mouth," and it refers to the front or edge of a weapon. Your mouth is the front or edge of a weapon. When the Word of God comes out of your mouth, you're cutting down cancer, you're cutting down growths, diseases and poverty; you're discomfiting Satan and the works of darkness. Your mouth is a sword. Use it to cut down the works of the enemy in your city, nation and nations of the world.

*Dear Father, I thank you for the power of your Word in my mouth. As l utter your Word, situations align with the realities of the glorious life that you've ordained for me in Christ. Through my words, I bring healing and health, deliverance, victory and success to my world, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*

*BE FAITHFUL WITH HIS INVESTMENT*

*TUESDAY, 14TH JANUARY 2025*

_*Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain... (John 15:16).*_

When God gives you an opportunity of service of any kind and at whatever capacity, it's essential that you recognize and use it. God is not a wasteful investor. He doesn't invest in a place or person that yields no results. Think about it; if you were an investor, would you continue pouring resources into a project that shows no progress? Of course not!

Now, if man, in his limited human wisdom, would be cautious with his investments, how much more would God? Each one of us is an investment of God. He expects us to bear fruits with the resources, gifts, talents, blessings and opportunities He's entrusted to us. I love the way Paul puts it in 1 Corinthians 4:1; he calls us stewards, and in verse 2 he says, _*"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."*_ So, are you a faithful steward of God's investment?

In John 15:2, the Lord Jesus said, _*"Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit."*_ He cuts off the supply to the unfruitful branch; no more testimonies because the supply isn't there anymore. God won't waste His investment. So, let Him trust you.

He said in the 16th verse, _*"...I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain..."*_ (John 15:16). What a privilege; what a blessing! The Lord Jesus Himself has chosen and ordained us to be fruitful. He ordained you to bring forth lasting fruits. Hallelujah! This is your mission. You're a missionary to your world, chosen by God for this purpose.

As long as you remain faithful, God will continue to invest in you and trust you with more. Paul said, _*"And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry"*_ (1 Timothy 1:12). The Lord will enable you, promote you, and continue to pour His resources into your life as you bear fruits for His Kingdom.

*FAITH AND SACRIFICE*

*MONDAY, 13TH JANUARY 2025*

_*Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions (Hebrews 11:33).*_

In 1 Kings 3, we read about Solomon offering one thousand burnt offerings to God. As a result, God appeared to him that night and said, _*"...Ask what I shall give thee"*_ (1 Kings 3:5). Solomon was only required to offer one burnt offering, but he went above and beyond, offering a thousand. As a result, he received divine attention.

Realizing the power of his offering, the next time he was to offer oblation to the Lord, he made it 22,000 burnt offerings. And once again, God responded by speaking to him and granting him promises. Also consider the example of Noah in Genesis 8. After the Flood, Noah's first act was to build an altar and offer burnt offerings of every clean beast and bird. The Bible says, _*"And the LORD smelled a sweet savour..."*_ and as a result, God made a promise: _*"...I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake..."*_ (Genesis 8:21).

Noah's offering was like incense rising to heaven, a sweet-smelling aroma for which God released promises and blessings for Noah and his sons, giving them dominion over all the earth: _*"...Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth...into your hand are they delivered"*_ (Genesis 9:1-2).

Similarly, the Lord Jesus obtained promises through His sacrificial death for us on the Cross. Following His obedience and vicarious sacrifice, the Bible says,
_*"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name"*_ (Philippians 2:9). Jesus obtained dominion over all because He was obedient in offering Himself.

The Bible speaks of others who also obtained promises through their faith and actions as read in our opening scripture. The Greek word for promise in that verse is "epaggelia," which means to get an announcement of something good that God has given you. This principle remains the same; you too can cause God to announce something good for you through your sacrificial offering, through the power of faith and the principle of sacrifice. It's one of the reasons why giving to God is so important. You can be praying and He'll say something to you in your spirit just as in the examples above. Hallelujah!

*Dear Father, I thank you for the power of faith and the principle of sacrifice. I walk in your grace today for answered prayers. My oblations of faith and righteousness rise as a sweet-smelling savour to you, and I walk in the fulfilment of your promises in my life. *THE POWER IS IN HIS NAME*

*SUNDAY, 12TH JANUARY 2025*

_…In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover_ *(Mark 16:17-18)*

When it comes to using the Name of Jesus, the power has nothing to do with your own ability, strength or how loud you shout! The demons have no choice; when you cast them out in the Name of Jesus, they know they’ve got to go. Ponder again some of the things listed in our opening scripture that the Lord said we can do in His Name: Cast out devils, take up serpents, unharmed by deadly poison, lay hands on the sick for them to recover.

This is absolutely transcendent. It lets you know the power in the Name of Jesus. His Name is an instrument of terror against devils, sickness, disease and infirmities. Peter understood this; that’s why in Acts 3, when he and John encountered a man who had been lame from birth, he used the Name of Jesus to effect a cure in the man’s impotent feet. When the man reached out for alms, Peter said, *“...Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk”* (Acts 3:6).

The miracle drew a crowd, and Peter took the opportunity to preach Jesus Christ, explaining that it was the Name of Jesus that made the man whole. What this man couldn't do for years, he did in a moment because of the power in the Name of Jesus. Even now, I say to you in the Name of Jesus, you’re loosed from any infirmity that might have held you bound.

What you haven't been able to do for years, you can do now in the Name of Jesus! Perhaps you have a child who has been unable to walk since birth, or maybe you've been held down by sickness or cancer; that child is healed now! And you’re free of that sickness in the Name of Jesus. Believe and activate these words in your situation, and they shall be so. Amen.

There’s power in that Name. That Name is the greatest Name in heaven, in hell, and in the universe! When you call that Name, all of heaven responds, Satan, hell and all demons tremble and bow to its authority. Call on that Name today with the understanding of its significance andpower, and you’ll surely have a miracle.

When it comes to using the Name of Jesus, the power has nothing to do with your own ability, strength or how loud you shout! The demons have no choice; when you cast them out in the Name of Jesus, they know they’ve got to go. Ponder again some of the things listed in our opening scripture that the Lord said we can do in His Name: Cast out devils, take up serpents, unharmed by deadly poison, lay hands on the sick for them to recover.

This is absolutely transcendent. It lets you know the power in the Name of Jesus. His Name is an instrument of terror against devils, sickness, disease and infirmities. Peter understood this; that’s why in Acts 3, when he and John encountered a man who had been lame from birth, he used the Name of Jesus to effect a cure in the man’s impotent feet. When the man reached out for alms, Peter said, *“...Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk”* (Acts 3:6).

The miracle drew a crowd, and Peter took the opportunity to preach Jesus Christ, explaining that it was the Name of Jesus that made the man whole. What this man couldn't do for years, he did in a moment because of the power in the Name of Jesus. Even now, I say to you in the Name of Jesus, you’re loosed from any infirmity that might have held you bound.

What you haven't been able to do for years, you can do now in the Name of Jesus! Perhaps you have a child who has been unable to walk since birth, or maybe you've been held down by sickness or cancer; that child is healed now! And you’re free of that sickness in the Name of Jesus. Believe and activate these words in your situation, and they shall be so. Amen.

There’s power in that Name. That Name is the greatest Name in heaven, in hell, and in the universe! When you call that Name, all of heaven responds, Satan, hell and all demons tremble and bow to its authority. Call on that Name today with the understanding of its significance andpower, and you’ll surely have a miracle.

_*And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil (Matthew 15:22).*_

In our last two studies, we reviewed two important mysteries about prayer: lifting up of our hands and praying in the night watches. There's also another mystery about prayer that has to do with faith and worship. I'll explain this with an intriguing story in the Bible.

In Matthew 15:22, we read about a woman of Canaan who cried out to Jesus for help. The situation was dire; her daughter was afflicted by a demon, and the physicians couldn't help. Despite her desperate plea, the Lord Jesus initially remained silent. Verse 23 says, _*"...he answered her not a word...."*_ The Master's silence didn't deter the woman as she remained importunate.

The disciples, uncomfortable by the Master's silence, urged Him to rather send the woman away because she was causing a disturbance. Finally, the Lord spoke, saying, _*"...l am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel"*_ (Matthew 15:24). Undeterred, the woman decided to add worship to her faith-request; the Bible says she came and worshipped Jesus, saying, _*"...Lord, help me"*_ (Matthew 15:25).

At that moment, the conversation shifted; Jesus then responded with a seemingly strong statement: _*"...It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs"*_ (Matthew 15:26). Yet unmoved, the woman still expressed her faith saying, _*"...Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table"*_ (Matthew 15:27). Her response was a demonstration of great faith and humility.

In verse 28, Jesus commended her; saying, _*"...O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt...."*_ Her daughter was healed from that very hour. This story reveals a profound lesson: worship can be the key that unlocks divine responses when it seems like there's silence from God. The woman's persistent faith and worship led to her miracle.

Have you ever prayed and it seemed like you weren't hearing anything from the Lord? You're wishing you could hear from God and it seems as though there's no response? Do what the woman did. In faith, worship the Lord profusely and sincerely, and you'll get a response. Hallelujah!

*PRAYER*
*Dear Father, I worship and adore you, the everlasting King of glory, the only wise and true God, gracious, holy, righteous, pure and kind. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the majesty and the splendour! You're exalted as head over all, and l extol your majesty and praise you for your blessings and wondrous works in my life and in all the earth, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*

*PRAYER IN THE NIGHT WATCHES*

*WEDNESDAY, 8TH JANUARY 2025*

*Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children... (Lamentations 2:19).*

Another mystery revealed to us in the Word is a secret about prayer that God's people need to understand. In Lamentations 2:19, we see a situation where the people needed deliverance for their children. Observe that the prophet didn't just say "Cry out; rather, he said, _*"Arise, cry out in the night...."*_ There was a specificity; it had to be at night.

There's something about praying in the night. Even though He didn't say you should pray every night, there're specific times when the Holy Spirit will lead you to pray in the night; that's why walking with the Spirit is so important. Night here isn't just 9pm or 10 pm; it's the wee hours of the morning, at the beginning of the watches, that's after 12 midnight.

Notice what He tells you to do at that time of the night: _*"...pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord..."*_ (Lamentations 2:19). This is no casual prayer; you pour out your heart before God. Then, what else? "Lift up thy hands toward Him for the life of thy young children." Some parents have faced situations where a child had become wayward or errant, delinquent and unruly, ensnared by the devil. Don't stand by helplessly, as if you can't bring about a change in that child's life; deal strongly in prayer and deliver your son or daughter.

Get up at midnight and pray! Use this secret of prayer that I'm sharing with you now. Lift up your hands and pray that child back into the will of God. Declare that he or she is turned away from the world's influences, drawn to the Word, and inspired by the things of the Kingdom. Declare that Satan has nothing in your child and that henceforth, the visions of the Spirit will be kindled in the heart of that child, imbuing him or her with the boldness and courage to fulfil divine purpose with joy.

Perhaps it's sickness or disease that has taken hold of that child; you must deliver that child in prayer. Pray this way and the Lord will intervene in the situation and restore the child to perfection. The instruction is for you to pour out your heart and lift up your hands toward God at night. This is how you take charge and bring deliverance to your children.Hallelujah!

*For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life_(John 3:16)*

The most beautiful part of the Gospel is not only that Jesus bore our sins and sacrificed Himself for us, but that He gave us something in return—eternal life. One of the most well-known verses in the Bible is John 3:16 and it says, *“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”*

This means anyone who believes in Jesus Christ receives eternal life. It’s a guarantee! The moment you believe in Jesus, you have it. You don’t have to wait for it or hope for it; you have it immediately. John 6:47 says, *“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”* It’s not a promise of something to come in the future. If you believe, you already have it!

Often, I ask people, *"Do you believe in Jesus?"* and some would say yes. Then I’d say, *"Did you receive anything when you believed?"* I found that most weren’t sure. They weren’t taught that something extraordinary happened as a result of their believing in Jesus. The Master was clear: *“...He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”*

1 John 5:11-12 says, *“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”* Notice the tenses: if you have Jesus Christ, you have eternal life. So, don’t pray for eternal life. The 13th verse is absolutely remarkable; it says, *“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life...”* (1 John 5:13).

God wants you to know that you have eternal life. This knowledge changes everything. When you know that you have eternal life, it impacts the way you live. You no longer live in fear or uncertainty but in confidence and victory. Hallelujah!

_*Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).*_

Our opening scripture brings to mind the words of the Spirit through the apostle Paul in Romans 5:8: _*"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."*_ Think about such sacrificial love. He was condemned in our place. No wonder the Bible says, _*"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus..."*_ (Romans 8:1).

The word translated "condemnation" also means "judgment"; Jesus Christ was judged for us. 2 Corinthians 5:19 (NIV) says, _*"...God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them...."*_ Did you notice that? God isn't counting men's sins against them because He laid their sins on Jesus. Jesus became the sin-bearer.

1 Peter 2:24 further makes it clearer; it says, _*"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness...."*_ It's the reason when we pray for
sinners, we pray that they'll come to terms with the revelation that God has given: Christ bore their sins and they don't need to live in sin anymore. Hallelujah!

2 Corinthians 5:14 says, _*"For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead."*_ This is absolutely legal and logical: He died for everybody; therefore, everybody died. Verse 15 says, _*"And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again."*_ Don't live unto yourself but unto Him. This is the right response to His sacrificial love. Hallelujah!

*FREEDOM FROM SIN*

_If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness_ *(1 John 1:9)*

The word confess in the verse above is translated from the Greek *“Homologeo.”* It’s a verb, which means to make declaration. But in the context of our opening verse, it means to acknowledge. If we acknowledge our sins, God is faithful and JUSTIFY to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Let’s also read Romans 3:24-26; it talks about God’s righteousness and the forgiveness of sin: *“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past…that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”* God is righteous, and in His righteousness, He puts away man’s sins and justifies him.

Can you imagine that? It doesn’t say God justifies the one who confesses his sins and asks for forgiveness. He’s not so much after you getting forgiveness as He is after the real reason for forgiveness. Forgiveness is from the Greek word *“Aphiemi”* and it means freedom. The Father’s focus is freedom from sin.

Already, you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You’re the expression of His righteousness. Acts 13:38-39 tells us something remarkable; it says, *“Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man (Jesus) is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins. And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."* Justified means to declare not guilty, acquitted, free—freedom from sin.

When we say freedom from sin, we’re not talking about freedom from the bondage of sin but freedom from sinning. Freedom from the bondage of sin refers to Satan’s dominion, which has been broken. But freedom from sin means the ability and possibility to live righteously and not to do wrong. Is that possible?

Emphatically yes! It’s what Jesus came to do; otherwise,it means His purpose wasn’t accomplished. But thanks be unto God; He fulfilled His purpose. He wasmade sin so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Now sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14). We’ll learn more in our next study.

*Dear Father, I thank you for the freedom from sin that I have through Jesus Christ. I acknowledge that through His sacrifice, I am justified, cleansed, and sin-free. I walk in righteousness and manifest your glory in all that I do, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*

_*Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification (our acquittal), [making our account balance and absolving us from all guilt before God] (Romans 4:25 AMPC).*_

When we say "Jesus died for the whole world," it's a generic expression indicating that He died for all humanity. So, in that generic sense, Jesus was condemned in our place. He was judged for all of us. But when you believe in Him, two significant things happen. First, your acceptance and acknowledgement that His vicarious sacrifice was in your behalf makes it possible for you to receive eternal life.

Receiving eternal life means you're born again; you're now a brand new person, without a past: _*"...if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new"*_ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Then, now that you're a new creature in Christ Jesus, it's essential to understand that in the actual sense, Jesus didn't die for the sins of this new man in Christ because the new life you received upon the New Birth is the God-life; it's not tainted with sin.

The new man in Christ was created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24). Colossians 3:10 says you _*"...have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him."*_ This realization leads to the understanding of why you're justified. The Bible says, "Jesus Christ was delivered up on account of our transgressions but He was raised for our justification" (Romans 4:25).

Now, being justified, you're at peace with God and have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Those who don't understand this truth struggle daily, "trying" to be righteous and to please God. But the key is to simply accept the truth of what Jesus Christ has done and live by it.

*Dear Father, I thank you for the gift of my brand-new life in Christ. I celebrate the truth that I am a new creation in Him, with old things completely passed away. I fully embrace my new identity and live in the fullness of eternal life that you have imparted to me. The Kingdom of God is a real Kingdom, howbeit, a spiritual one, and being born again, we’re progenies of the Kingdom. The Kingdom of God includes
everything under God’s dominion, both on earth and in Heaven. But there’s also the Kingdom of Heaven, which is the earthly manifestation of the Kingdom of God, set up by Jesus.

So, when Jesus came and said, "The Kingdom of God is at hand" (Matthew 3:2, Mark 1:15), He was referring to the Kingdom of Heaven that He had come to establish or set up in the earth. This is the Kingdom that Jesus began to preach and to make known, something others couldn’t do because they hadn’t entered it themselves—it was promised to them.

But Jesus preached it and then brought us into it through the New Birth. Hallelujah! Colossians 1:12-13 says, “Giving thanks unto the Father… Who hath…translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.”

So, today, the same Kingdom that Jesus Himself preached is what He’s commissioned us to preach to the
ends of the earth: “And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God…” (Luke 9:2). But one day, very soon, this Kingdom, which is in the spirit realm right now, will manifest in this world and take over this world.

Intensify your efforts and stop at nothing in ensuring the good news of the Kingdom spreads to the ends of the earth; win more souls into the Kingdom. The Lord Jesus, referring to being born again, said in John 3:5, “…Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

It’s our responsibility to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom so that every man, woman, boy and girl on the face of the earth might hear, believe and be brought into the Kingdom. Remember the words of the Master in Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Blessed be God!

I proclaim the glorious news of your saving power to those who’re held bound by the shackles of the adversary, bringing them out of damnation into the glorious liberty of your Kingdom, in Jesus' Name. *ETERNAL LIFE DEFINED*

_*That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:15).*_

Imagine preaching the Gospel to someone and the person asks you, "What is eternal life?" What will you say? I'll give you two simple statements that'll help you understand what it is. The first one is that eternal life is the life and nature of God. This in itself isn't a definition but an expression that describes what kind of life it is. Eternal life is a life that's different from other kinds of life; it's the life and nature of God.

As a definition, eternal life is the organic and existential attributes of deity. Why is this important? It's because all over the world, people talk about different gods. There're so many deities in different cultures represented in so many ways. But none of them has eternal life.

Eternal life is the life that Jesus, in Scripture, declared the Father has, which essentially distinguishes Him from all others that may be called gods: _*"For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself"*_ (John 5:26). The Bible declares, _*"...And now we are in God because we are in JESUS CHRIST HIS SON, WHO IS THE ONLY TRUE GOD: AND HE IS ETERNAL LIFE"*_ (1 John 5:20 TLB). Jesus Christ is God! In Him, we find and can relate with the organic and existential attributes of deity.

When He walked the earth, He was life encapsulated in a human body and manifested to us: _*"For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us"*_ (1 John 1:2).

This eternal life is what He brought to the world (John 10:10). This is the message of the Kingdom of God: that Jesus Christ offers eternal life freely. That's why it's called Gospel; you don't have to pay anything for it.

_*And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils...(Mark 16:17).*_

There're people who say they don't believe in the existence of demons, saying that devils or demons only exist in the imagination of certain people. Such folks are ignorant because the Bible tells us that Satan and demons are real. 1 Peter 5:8 says, _*"...your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."*_

Jesus taught about demons and how they operate, and He cast out demons on several occasions. In fact, the very first sign He said would follow those who believe in Him is what we read in our opening scripture: the ability to cast out demons.

Once, He was teaching in the synagogue and the Bible tells us that a certain woman who was bent double and couldn't straighten up herself came into the synagogue. The Bible says, _*"And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity"*_ (Luke 13:12). In the 11th and 16th verses, it's clearly stated that the woman's condition was caused by the devil, and Jesus proved it when He touched her and commanded her to straighten up, and she was restored instantly.

There were also instances where He commanded deaf spirits to come out of people who were deaf and dumb, and they instantly began to hear and speak. Many of us have done the same thing over the years in His Name. We've cast out deaf and dumb spirits, and instantly, the people who were afflicted started to hear and to speak. We did exactly what Jesus said to do and what He did. Glory to God!

He told us to cast out demons because they are real and are responsible for many of the troubles and infirmities that people suffer with and that we see around us. So, don't be deceived by Satan's incognito; if he can get you to believe he doesn't exist, then he can mess up your life and mess up things around you. The Bible says we're not ignorant of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11). Ephesians 4:27 tells us to give him no place, no foothold.

Satan and his demons may be real, but they're powerless, defenceless and paralyzed before us. Whenever they show up, cast them out; truncate their activities, manoeuvres and manipulations. You have absolute dominion over them; exercise it.

*Dear Father, thank you for the authority I have in the Name of Jesus to cast out demons and to destroy their works and schemes. Thank you for the victory and dominion I have over all the power of the enemy. I walk in this authority today and always, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV).

One great commitment that we should make as believers is to glorify God in all we do. In today’s base text, Paul counsels us: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” To glorify God means to offer great honour, praise and thanks to God. When we do things that show that God is at work in and through us, it results in praise and thanksgiving to God; he is greatly honoured. Loving others glorifies God. Forgiving offenders glorifies God. Faithfulness and honesty glorify God. Helping the needy also brings thanksgiving and praise to God. This is what Paul meant when he wrote to the Corinthian believers concerning giving to God’s people who were in need: “This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God … others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ …” (2 Corinthians 9:12-13). Our good deeds show forth the love of God and people cannot help but glorify God. That is why our Lord Jesus urges his followers: “… let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Whatever you do, do it all for God’s glory.

What confidence Jesus had,
to
state
that
God

given Him power
over

flesh

eternal life. This means Jesus is the One who gives eternal life. If He’s the Lord of your life, you have eternal life in you because He gives eternal life to all those over whom He’s Lord.

You can only know and understand life when you know the source of life, and that’s Jesus Christ. The next verse says, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3). Notice how Jesus classifies Himself here with God because He is Himself God. He didn't say, “that they might know thee, the only true God,” and stop there. He said “and Jesus Christ”; meaning you’ve got to know God and you’ve got to know Jesus Christ. You can't have one without the other.

Jesus is eternal life; that’s the reason He can give it. So, if you don't know Him, you can’t know life. The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Again, we see that God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ.

This truth gets even clearer in 1 John 5:11-12, which says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” He says, “…this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life….” Observe the tenses. It doesn’t say if you have the Son, God will give you life. Rather, it
says, “If you have the Son, you have life.” That’s the same thing Jesus said in John 6:47: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” Glory to His Name forever!

*FRIDAY, 13TH DECEMBER 2024*.

_*Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind (Colossians 2:18).*_

In Christianity, we don't worship angels, neither do we ask angels to pray for us. No matter how much you call on them to pray for you, they won't pray for you because they can't pray for you. Jesus told us how to pray; He said, _*"...Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you"*_ (John 16:23). We pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus.

We're the only ones with the right, privilege and blessing to use His Name in prayer. We don't even ask Jesus to pray to the Father for us. Jesus said, _*"At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God"*_ (John 16:26-27). So, we don't say, "Lord Jesus, please talk to the Father for me." No; the Father Himself loves us, so we talk to Him directly.

I've always pointed out the difference between praying to God through Jesus Christ and praying to God in the Name of Jesus. They're not the same. Praying to God in the Name of Jesus is what Jesus told us to do. Praying to God through Jesus Christ is making Jesus a medium, and after you're born again, He's not a medium to you. He's a medium to God only for the sinner.

Remember what He said: _*"...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me"*_ (John 14:6). But when you come by Him to the Father, you don't need a medium anymore because you're now in the presence of the Father. Praying in the Name of Jesus is a matter of authority. It means you're using His authority.

Why do you use His authority? Because He saved you, and He owns everything. His Name is on all creation; everything was created in His Name. Everything belongs to Him. The Father put the Name of Jesus as the stamp on all of His creation: _*"Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him"*_ (Colossians 1:15-16). Therefore, everything listens to Jesus (Matthew 17:5). Everything! So, use His Name today with boldness.

*PRAYER OF SALVATION*
*“O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He’s alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, I have eternal life; I’m born again. Thank you Lord, for saving my soul! I’m now a child of God. Hallelujah!”*

*Dear Father, I thank you for the authority you've given me to use the Name of Jesus in prayer. I exercise this authority with boldness, knowing that I have direct access to you and that all creation listens to me as they listen to Jesus. What we just read in our opening scripture is extraordinary. There's no better way to explain it than how it's already stated. The message is very clear: Christ has abolished death and has brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. The Church has to come to the knowledge and profundity of this truth.

Now that you're born again, you've passed from death to life; you're in the place of immortality—deathlessness: _*"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life"*_ (John 5:24). You have the transcendent life—the overcoming life that makes you superior to Satan, darkness, disease, sickness, failure, defeat, and death.

Now, if this is true, and thank God it is, why are there still so many in the Church today struggling with their health and being buffeted by the elements of this world? The reason is their lack of understanding, consciousness and knowledge of this truth. God said in Hosea 4:6, "My people are destroyed for their lack of knowledge."

It brings to mind the lamentation of the psalmist, Asaph in Psalm 82:5-7, _*"They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes."*_ How sad! Being born again, you're a god because you're born of God; therefore, you have the God-life! That life isn't subject to sickness; it's death-proof and disease-proof! This is the truth, and unless you accept this reality, you'll never live it.

This is what Jesus came to accomplish for us, and He fulfilled it. He "finished" the work. On the Cross, before He died, He said, "It is finished"; in other words, mission accomplished; death is abolished; life and immortality are now unveiled! The Bible says, _*"But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God"*_ (Hebrews 10:12). Glory to God!

He made life and immortality available through the Gospel and sat down at the right hand of God. Now the Bible says whosoever believes in Him has everlasting life (John 3:16). Having believed, you have life and immortality. Blessed be God!

*I was born into the realm of life and immortality; I have passed from death to life. I have the transcendent life—the overcoming life—that makes me superior to Satan, darkness, disease, sickness, failure, defeat and death: a life that's beyond this world! I reign gloriously over circumstances and live triumphantly every day, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*
